OBAN HIGH SCHOOL TRADITIONAL SCHOOL OF MUSIC PRESENT
ST ANDREW’S NIGHT CEILIDH DANCE
Oban High School Traditional School of Music is now in it’s 6th year and was set up by music teacher Morven Gage to encourage talented young musicians within the school to work together as a group, increase their repertoire within the traditional music genre and take part in many great opportunities for live concert performances and playing for ceilidh dancing throughout the year. Led by tutors Sileas Sinclair, Finlay Wells, Joanie Garvin and Lorne MacDougall, the group sing Gaelic and Scots songs and play a large range of instruments including pipes, fiddles, accordions, whistles and flute, all rhythmically accompanied by piano and guitar. OHS Trad School of Music are very fortunate to be continually supported by Mr Bain and Oban High School and go from strength to strength each year. A number of former members are now studying music performance at universities and colleges throughout the country, flying the flag for Oban and Lorne
