Friday 14th November marks the grand opening, and the whole town comes alive! The Opening Parade is a dazzling spectacle of colour and creativity with everyone bringing balloons and flags in a sea of colour! — with music, dance, and illuminated lanterns lighting up the streets. This year’s theme, “Up, Up & Away!”, promises soaring imaginations and sky-high fun, Don’t miss Coolio, our beloved snowman mascot, leading the festivities as the parade winds its way from the Corran Halls through the town centre to finish in a flurry of fun at Station Square.
Gather at Corran Halls from 4.30pm, bring your balloons to join in the ‘Up, Up & Away’ theme. Join the Re_Store crew and fly the flags made during community workshops featuring birds in flight. Follow the samba band OBANDA and Coolio to set off at 5pm with the Opening Parade to Station Square.
