On Sunday 16th November 2025, from 11am to 5pm, the Atlantis Leisure Centre in Oban will host a fun and friendly day of badminton doubles for players aged 16 and over. The event is designed especially for social players who enjoy the game without the pressure of intense competition. Participants are welcome to enter with a partner or note “partner wanted” and be paired up on the day. Thanks to the generous support of Argyll Estate Agents, the day promises to be a relaxed and enjoyable celebration of badminton.
Entry is free to all Badminton Scotland members, and new members are warmly encouraged to join, as part of our efforts to promote and grow the sport locally. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a welcoming atmosphere, meet new people, and play plenty of friendly matches.
Our committee has already raised 50% of the costs through fundraising and sponsorship, but we are now seeking the remaining £350 to cover hall hire and equipment. In addition, we are inviting donations of prizes for a charity raffle, which will run alongside the event. Sponsors will benefit from visibility across our social media channels and newspaper reviews, as well as the chance to showcase banners and flyers at the event itself.
This promises to be a lively, community-focused day of sport, connection, and support for good causes—and we’d love to see as many players, sponsors, and supporters involved as possible.
