Santa to Land at Oban Airport for Magical Children’s Christmas Event!
The Oban Winter Festival in association with the Connel Flying Club, is delighted to announce a truly enchanting festive experience taking place at Oban Airport on Sunday 14th December, where children and families can welcome Santa Claus as he arrives by plane for a very special Christmas celebration.
Santa will touch down at 11:30am, flying in especially to meet the children. His visit will take place inside the Connel Flying Club hangar, which will be transformed into a stunning winter grotto filled with festive wonder.
Children will have the chance to meet Santa in person and share their Christmas wishes, explore the beautifully decorated grotto, enjoy free Christmas crafts, and tuck into delicious holiday treats – including a chocolate fountain and candyfloss. This event is FREE to attend, visit Santa, crafts and treats – donations are welcome. There will be hot beverages and refreshments available to purchase separately.
Tickets are free but split into 2 sessions so children can choose whether they wish to see Santa arrive (Session 1: 11am-12.45pm) or leave (Session 2: 1pm-3pm) tickets will be available via the Oban Winter Festival website.

After spending the afternoon meeting the children, Santa will depart at 2:30pm, flying off to deliver all the collected Christmas wishes directly to his elves at the North Pole.
In addition to the festivities, there will also be an extraordinary new opportunity: to Win a Trip in Santa’s Plane!
One lucky adult will receive the once-in-a-lifetime chance to take a flight in Santa’s very own plane — after the Christmas rush, of course! This exclusive experience will be awarded via a Silent Auction, where visitors can place secret bids, and the highest bidder will claim the prize. This magical event is brought to the community through the generous support of Oban Airport and is proudly hosted as part of the Oban Winter Festival, in partnership with the Connel Flying Club.
Please note: Parking at the airport is limited. Attendees are kindly encouraged to car share wherever possible.
